Xth Edition of International KLINGENTHAL-Seminars

The Xth Edition of the International KLINGENTHAL-Seminars was organised by the french Association « Civisme, Défense, Armée, Nation /CiDAN» , with the support of the Charles Léopold Mayer Foundation for the Progress of Humankind (FPH) and the Franco-German Foundation of Strasbourg. The now traditional international European seminar near Strasbourg took place from 21 to 24 october. It focussed this year on the European Security and Defence Policy under the rules of the new Lisbon Treaty and on the situation in Afghanistan.

On Saturday, 23rd of october, the participants assisted the 2nd International Colloquium at the Headquarters of the European Corps , coorganized by CiDAN, the german Security and Defense Policy Association and the European Corps Staff.

From a core of representative organisations, including for example GfW, CiDAN will continue to build a network of members meeting and exchanging information on ESDP, make the point of actual status the European construction and looking also after the Security aspects. As for the past years, CiDAN and the participants of the meeting were hosted by the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Foundation in Bâle in its beautiful Klingenthal Castle, located in the heart of a Vosgian valley in Alsace and renowned for its long tradition of international meetings.
