The first symposium in the framework of this new dialog was held in 2007/2008 on the invitation of the Charles Léopold Mayer Foundation. Two other Foundations, « Entente Franco-Allemande » and « Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe-Foundation» (Basel) contributed as partners.
The symposium was organized in two consecutive seminars: the "Opening Seminar", which gathered 45 military and civilian experts from 23 to 30 June 2007 at Klingenthal Castle near Strasbourg (France) in order to reflect on the experiences of 40 years of franco-german cooperation in the field of armed forces training and public relations.
The " Follow Up Forum" took place in Kyrgyzstan from 25 to 31 October 2008, where about 60 participants from the same nations discussed about the "Future of Central Asia and Ethics of their Armed Forces".
The organization of this symposium was provided by members of the International Network of Military for Peace and Security, namely Manfred ROSENBERGER, Colonel (retd) from the Federal Armed Forces of Germany, living at Soustons (France) and René CAGNAT, writer and retired colonel, former military attaché in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, living in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan ).
